Getting to Barrakee

Private Transfers

If flying in to Canberra we recommend utilising a Private Snow Transfer as the easiest way of getting to our lodge this season.

There are several businesses in the mountains who provide this service. We recommend Snow Access Tours - from Canberra Airport to Perisher and return.

There are multiple ways to get to Barrakee Ski Lodge

By far the easiest, quickest and most popular way to arrive at
Barrakee Ski Lodge is Car > Ski Tube > Oversnow.

Car > Ski Tube > Oversnow

1) Drive your Car

Guests drive to Bullocks Flat Ski Tube Terminal and leave their car in the free, security patrolled car park. No park entry fees or snow chains are required.

2) Catch the Ski Tube

Guests ride the Ski Tube for the 11 minute journey into the mountains and alight at the Perisher Valley Ski Tube Terminal (PVSTT) building.

3) Barrakee Oversnow transfer

Guests are met outside the PVSTT at their pre-arranged time and transported directly to the lodge via our complimentary over snow vehicle.

Barrakee Oversnow Transport Information

Barrakee provides all arriving (and departing) guests complimentary oversnow transport to (and from) the lodge.

Guests are met at the Perisher Valley Ski Tube Terminal at their pre-arranged time and then transported directly to the lodge.

Guests arriving earlier into the resort are able to utilise our luggage only pick up service.

For late arrivals or if you miss the last Barrakee shuttle, 4Site Oversnow Desk is located in the Perisher Valley Ski Tube Terminal and is the local taxi service operating 7 days per week during the ski season from first lists until last Ski Tube to Perisher.

Ski Tube Information

The Ski Tube is operated by Perisher and runs every 20-30 minutes from Bullocks Flat to Perisher Valley and onto Blue Cow.

There is ample free car parking at the terminal and the journey time to Perisher is a brisk 11 minutes.

The carpark is located outside of the National Park (no park entry fees, no snow chains) and below the snowline (no digging the car out after snow falls).

For more details including timetables, pricing and travelling with luggage, please see the Perisher website.

Taking your own car

Please note that when travelling by car there is no overnight parking at Perisher Valley.

Larger group option

For larger groups, it might be economical to drive to Perisher, drop off the bulk of the group and then have the driver proceed to Bullocks Flat and catch the Ski Tube. Allow for park fees, snow chains and an extra 2-3 hours if you choose this option.
